Cheating lovers who mistakenly hired police commander to kill husband remanded
The Asokwa District Court in the Ashanti region has remanded two cheating lovers who mistakenly hired a police commander to kill a husband.
The judge, Korkor Achaw Owusu, ordered the two to re-appear on May 21, 2020. Their pleas were not taken in the contract killing case.
The story of the error-ridden contract killing scheme has gripped media outlets across the country.
A 32-year-old cheating wife, Mavis Brepor, allegedly plotted with her 50-year-old lover, Patrick Asare, to kill her husband, David Gator, 52.
Kumasi-based Luv FM reported that there was heavy police at the court, with personnel numbering about 20 stationed at vantage points.
David Gator, 52, a farmer, has been married to Mavis for close to 12 years with three children.
The execution was to take place on Saturday, May 2, to allow the two lovers who had vowed to be together forever, to go ahead and marry.
However, a call placed by Asare to a would-be contract killer landed on the phone of the Manhyia Divisional Police Commander, ACP Kwaku Buah, instead of the hitman.
The commander feigned interest and arrested Asare after he was lured to Kumasi to take the supposed hitman to the location of Gator.
ACP Buah had earlier told theghanareport.com that they would forward the docket to the Attorney-General’s office for advice.
