Castro is not the father of my son – Mzbel clarifies
Legendary Ghanaian musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, better known as Mzbel, has responded to allegations regarding the paternity of her son, Aaron Adepa Amoah.
Earlier this year, rumours were rife that the late musician Castro who went missing in 2014 is the father of her child.
Mzbel has vehemently refuted these claims in an interview with Max TV on March 17, 2025.
The ’16 Years’ hitmaker explained that she last saw Castro in 2013 when they collaborated to record a tribute song for the late Ronnie Coaches, a member of the iconic group Buk Bak, who died of a heart attack.
Mzbel emphasized that she gave birth to her son years after her friendship with Castro and other musicians from her era had ended.
“The last time I saw Castro was when Ronnie Coaches died, and we got together to record a tribute song. I never saw him again. I gave birth to Adepa six years after my friendship with Castro and other colleagues ended. Castro was alive when Adepa was born,” she stated.
Mzbel expressed concern as to why public figures and others would believe Castro was the father of her son.
She also questioned the public’s obsession with her personal life, stating, “Why is it by force that they want to know the father of my child, all the people I know who put their relationships out on social media, it never went well for them.”
Mzbel stressed that she has no intentions of disclosing the identity of her son’s father to the public.
She noted that her son, Aaron Adepa Amoah knows his father and maintains a good relationship with him.
