Captain Planet explains why he could never be caught in online scams

Former 4X4 member Captain Planet has weighed in on why he believes online romance scammers often get caught—and why he says he wouldn’t.

In a recent post on X, he argued that oversharing personal details, flaunting wealth, or constantly posting online makes it easy for authorities to trace people.

“Some of you boys dey slack. Me if I be game boy like nobody go suspect me cuz I no go show u anything on social media for you to track me. You don’t need to post money on social media to show people you’re enjoying life. A fish with its mouth closed never gets caught,” he wrote.

Captain Planet also used the post to caution against sharing personal data on digital platforms, highlighting its role in law enforcement surveillance.

He suggested that keeping a low profile is key to avoiding scrutiny.

He further questioned what he described as unequal justice, noting that public officials accused of corruption often escape prison, while ordinary citizens face harsher penalties.

His post sparked conversations online about privacy, online behaviour, and the risks of oversharing in the digital age.
