CAF CONFED Cup: Nsoatreman dumped out of competition
Ghana’s representative in the 2024-2025 CAF Confederation Cup, Nsoatreman Football Club, have been eliminated from the competition.
The reigning MTN FA Cup holders lost 1-0 to CS Constantine of Algeria in Algeria in the second leg of the two legged tie.
The win means Constantine progress to the third round of the tournament via a 3-0 aggregate win over the Ghanaian side.
Zakaria Benchaa scored in the 20th minute after receiving a pass from the left side and worked the ball on to his left foot before bending the ball into the net.
Benchaa proved to be the difference maker in this contest as his three goals effectively sealed the tie; the 27 year old forward scored both goals in Constantine’s 2-0 win over Nsoatreman in the first leg in Accra.
Nsoatreman was attempting to match fellow Ghanaian side Dreams FC’s brilliant run to the CAF CONFED Cup semifinals in the last campaigns despite competing in the tournament for the first time.
