Burma camp pharmacy assault: Soldier granted GH¢70k bail

Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams, the soldier captured in a viral video assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at Burma Camp, has been granted bail amounting to GH¢70,000 with two sureties by an Accra Circuit Court.

The incident took place on October 29, 2025, at the e-Pride Pharmacy, where WO1 Williams allegedly became enraged after the attendant informed him that the medications sold were non-refundable.

He had requested a refund of approximately GH₵65.00 for medication he had sent his son to purchase on his behalf.

CCTV footage, extensively shared by media outlets, depicted him physically attacking both the male attendant and a female customer who attempted to document the incident on her phone.

Subsequent to the assault, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) apprehended WO1 Williams on October 30, 2025, and transferred him to the Cantonments Police Station for investigation and prosecution.
