I saw the number on TV – 13-year-old boy arrested over money ritual
A 13-year-old child is being held by Akyem – Bunso police in the Eastern Region’s Fanteakwa North District for attempting to seek money rituals.
The teenager (name withheld) is believed to have traveled from Kade in the Kwaebibirim Municipality to Akyem Nsutam in search of the spiritualist.
According to the informant, Indian Power, the teenager had shown readiness to comply with all the demands that came with his quest for money.
The class five pupil reportedly told the spiritualist that he was an orphan and a school dropout from the Kade Roman Catholic Basic School and needed money to learn a trade.
The spiritualist not convinced by his story informed the Police, who subsequently picked him up for investigation.
During interrogation, he confessed that he saw the number of the spiritualist, Indian Power, on Television and decided to pursue his interest in making money.
The case has since been referred to Abuakwa South DOVVSU for investigation and appropriate advice.
The issue of ritual murder is an old phenomenon but in recent times there have been disturbing reports of teenagers engaging in the act.
Felix and Nicholas are said to have lured their victim into an uncompleted building and reportedly killed him.
He was playing a video game when he was called into the uncompleted building by his playmates, who are known residents in the area.
Per the reports, the accused persons hit Ishmael with an object which resulted in instant death.
According to sources, the incident happened in the Kasoa suburb of Lamptey Mills on Saturday, April 3, 2021, between 5 pm and 6 pm.
Meanwhile, some residents in the area have said a fetish priest the suspects had contacted told them to bring human parts for rituals.
Ishmael lived with the mother and sister at Kasoa, whilst the father lived elsewhere.
According to Ishmael’s mother, the father had traveled and had not visited them for some time.
As a practice, the mother of the deceased said the boy often attends Islamic lessons on Saturdays but failed to do so on that fateful day because he was waiting for his father, who had promised to visit.
The mother said Ishmael’s sister rushed in to inform her that he had been killed.
The residents apprehended the teenagers and reported the case to the Kasoa police.
