Black Stars’ Benjamin Asare Wins Ghana Premier League Goalkeeper Award in September
Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, who doubles as the starting goalkeeper for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, Benjamin Asare, has won the Goalkeeper of the Month Award (September) in the Ghana Premier League.
The shot stopper for the Phobia club won the top award after registering three clean sheets in the immediate past month.
Hearts of Oak picked up 1-0 wins over Eleven Wonders and Dreams FC and drew goalless with Hohoe United in the month of September with Asare in goal.
The 33 year old goalkeeper missed a couple of league games in the month of October due to his activity with the Black Stars.
With Asare in goal, Ghana beat Central African Republic 5-0 and Comoros 1-0 to top Group I and qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He is expected to be in goal for Hearts of Oak’s game against Berekum Chelsea in Berekum on Sunday, October 19 at 15:00 GMT.
Hearts rank fifth in the league with two wins and three draws five games into the 2025-2026 GPL season.
