President John Mahama has announced plans to introduce new incentives to empower businesses and create jobs across Ghana.
This initiative is a key part of his administration’s strategy to reduce unemployment and drive economic growth by strengthening the private sector.
At the First Sky Group Thanksgiving Service, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, speaking on behalf of President Mahama, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.
As part of the “resetting agenda,” the administration will engage with business leaders to identify areas for collaboration and provide targeted incentives to help businesses expand, boost productivity, and generate more jobs.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of reducing unemployment and building a competitive private sector.
By offering the right support and resources, the Mahama administration aims to create an environment where both local and foreign businesses can thrive, driving economic growth and providing long-term job opportunities for Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, First Sky Group, a major private sector player, has revealed plans to build a 200-megawatt renewable energy plant in northern Ghana over the next two years.
This project will address growing energy demands while creating jobs in the region.
Eric Kutortse, Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, also provided an update on the group’s ongoing solar power plant in Yendi, which is 65% complete and expected to be finished by mid-2025.
Together, these efforts will contribute to Ghana’s energy security and economic development, while creating more job opportunities.
These initiatives highlight the strong partnership between the Mahama administration and the private sector in driving economic growth, reducing unemployment, and building a prosperous future for Ghana.
