The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has issued a warning to applicants and their guardians about a fraudulent syndicate posing as admission facilitators.
The university revealed that the group uses fake email addresses to solicit payments and personal information from unsuspecting individuals.
In an official statement dated August 23, 2024, KNUST emphasized that it has not authorized any third parties or agents to manage its admissions.
It added that all admissions processes are managed solely through the university’s official channels.
The university urged prospective students and their parents to disregard any such fraudulent communications and report them immediately to the nearest police station.
The university also reminded stakeholders that official admission forms can be obtained through regional post offices or by using the designated short code for undergraduate forms, while postgraduate forms are available at specific banks.
KNUST remains committed to ensuring a transparent and secure admission process and advises all prospective students to engage directly with the university to avoid falling victim to scams.
