A Former Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has been appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources on Special Projects.

Benito Owusu-Bio’s appointment follows his removal from office during last week’s reshuffle of ministers and deputy ministers by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a letter dated Thursday, February 15, addressed to Owusu-Bio, it was stated that his appointment takes effect from Monday, February 19.

The special projects Owusu-Bio will advise on include the National Alternative Employment and Livelihood Programme (NAELP), the Ghana Landscape Restoration and Small Scale Mining Project (GLRSSMP), the Green Ghana Project, and others aimed at efficient protection and management of lands and natural resources.

The sector minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor expressed confidence in Owusu-Bio’s institutional memory and competence, given his extensive service in the public sector, particularly in lands and natural resources.

Mr Owusu-Bio, who is also a Member of Parliament, will not receive additional remuneration for his new role.

Below is a letter to that effect.
