Ben Ephson predicts defeats for Sam George, Oye Lithur, others in NDC primaries
Pollster, Ben Ephson has indicated Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George and the former Gender Minister, Nana Oye Lithur will lose in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.
In an interview monitored by The Ghana Report, Mr. Ephson said they were going to lose because there were some underlying controversies in their respective constituencies that will likely go against them.
He explained that Nana Oye Lithur’s former deputy, Rachel Appoh was out to blur the chances of Oye Lithur from winning in the parliamentary primaries.
He noted, “When she was the Minister of Gender she had very bad reputation with her two deputies so I will be surprised if Nana Oye wins, given the way she is going about it.”
In the case of Sam George, Mr. Ephson said that the former MP for Ningo Prampram, Enoch Teye Mensah would be the major factor to affect his chances.
“Things have built up and it will be difficult for him. Last time he was an underdog, this time if Sam George wins, I will be surprised.
“He’s done very well but this time the odds are against him. ET, love him or hate him, is a factor in Ningo Prampram,” he commented.
He added that Sidii Abubakar Musah and popular Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo are likely to fall come August, 24.
The NDC, according to General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is set to hold its parliamentary primaries across the country this weekend to select candidates to contest the 2020 parliamentary election.
