Ghana female artiste Francisca Gawugah popularly known as Sista Afia has disclosed that marriage does not define her and being a single lady doesn’t also mean she wouldn’t make it in life.

The songstress who claims any man who speaks good English and looks presentable can approach her for marriage says she wouldn’t force herself into any marriage but will certainly have kids even without being legally married.

The ‘Corner Corner’ hitmaker through her music shows how marriage or being in a permanent relationship means nothing to her as a celebrity.

Speaking on her relationship in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Hitz FM, Sista Afia asserted that some marriages in this 21st century have discouraged her from venturing into marriage since that cannot be compared to the marriages that existed some years ago.

According to the singer, life doesn’t necessarily revolve around marriage hence there is no need to worry about her being single.

“I don’t see life to be all about marriage and having kids. Life is a beautiful thing —and it has a lot of angles.”

“If I don’t get married, it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t do better in life. Marriage doesn’t define me”.

The singer also disclosed that when she was young, she had the dream of getting married and having children at an early age.

“I was a young girl and I remember telling myself that I would get married at the age of 21; I’d have twins at the age of 24, and another set of twins later.”

It appears Afia has forgotten about her dream and now saying the opposite.

“I was very young and I was very naïve and I didn’t know much about marriage and life, but now I do I’m not in a rush.”

“It’s my dream to have a kid, but if I don’t even get married, it’s fine but for a kid, it’s something I would want to have.”

She concluded, “Married people these days… it is crazy. Considering this generation… Because we have social media, people do not see the importance of so many things anymore.”

“If you’re a woman, whatever you want to do, be it marriage, you can go ahead and do it, but for me, I’m just being me and I don’t regard marriage.”

Sista Afia’s new single ‘Carry Go’ narrates a story of her romantic lifestyle and tells listeners how money is relevant in any relationship.

‘What be love? It’s an Ananse story’ is part of the lyrics incorporated in her song meaning love is just fiction.

Sista Afia in previous interviews has opened up that she is ready to start a new relationship with any man who will suit her requirements.
