Bawumia’s victory is a forgone conclusion; we want 80% margin for him – Atta Akyea

The Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South Samuel Atta Akyea has projected that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will emerge as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with a margin of 80 percent.

The NPP is holding its presidential primary across all constituencies with the exception of Sunyani East Constituency.

Atta Akyea being one of the 203,439 delegates voting to elect a flagbearer for the NPP in an interview with the media said he is very optimistic Dr Bawumia will win in the presidential primary.

“It is a forgone conclusion, we want 80% percent of votes for him to know that the whole party is behind him,” he noted.

The presidential aspirants in the primaries are; Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and former MP for Asante Mampong Francis Addai-Nimoh.
