Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will today, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, share his vision for Ghana’s future, emphasizing selfless leadership and bold solutions.

Following the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) elections on November 4, 2023, this will be the Vice President’s first speech in a public setting in his role as the NPP flagbearer.

The ceremony will take place at Kofi-Ohene Konadu Auditorium in the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), where he is expected to give a sneak peek of his plans for the country ahead of the 2024 elections.

Dr. Bawumia has reiterated that his vision for Ghana is to use data, technology, and systems to drive equitable economic growth throughout the nation.

Speaking to NPP supporters at the party headquarters in June of last year, the Vice President hinted that he had put in a lot of effort in both his personal and professional lives to get to where he is now.

Though he served in various capacities under former President John Agyekum Kufour including being the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana and subsequently as Vice President he has his vision for the country.

He said: “I also have my own vision for Ghana. I believe that it is time to move Ghana to the next level by building on the foundations we have put in place so far.”

“Together with you, I want to see a Ghana where we leverage technology, data and systems for inclusive economic growth. I want to make Ghana the digital hub of Africa. I want us to bridge the digital divide and apply digital technology and artificial intelligence for the transformation of healthcare, education and public service delivery amongst others”.
