Bawumia leads with resounding victory in latest polls

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has established a significant lead in the competition to guide the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, as reported by the most recent National Tracking Poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics.

The poll, which was carried out from December 1 to December 21, 2025, reveals that Dr. Bawumia commands 56 percent support among all voters, significantly ahead of Kennedy Agyapong, who is at 28 percent. Both Dr. Bryan Acheampong and Dr. Yaw Osei-Adutwum are tied at 6 percent each, while Kwabena Agyapong has garnered 4 percent.

Support for Dr. Bawumia is even more pronounced among the NPP’s core supporters. Within the NPP voter base, 72 percent endorse the former Vice President, further solidifying his lead ahead of the party’s leadership poll scheduled for January 31. Kennedy Agyapong follows with 19 percent, while Dr. Bryan Acheampong receives 4 percent, Dr. Osei-Adutwum 3 percent, and Kwabena Agyapong 1 percent.

The results suggest that the race is increasingly favoring Dr. Bawumia, with his nearest competitors lagging significantly in voter preference. The data also indicates a divided opposition within the party, which may further strengthen his position as the race approaches its critical stage.

The National Tracking Poll was executed across all 16 regions, utilizing a mix of web-based, telephone, and face-to-face interviews, and boasts a 99 percent confidence level with a margin of error of ±1.1 percent.

With only weeks remaining until the January 31 polls, the survey places Dr. Bawumia securely in the lead.
