Bawumia embodies leadership qualities — Ibrahim Adjei backs Atta Akyea

Ibrahim Adjei, who previously served as Assistant Secretary in the Office of former President Akufo-Addo, has expressed strong support for the remarks made by former Works and Housing Minister, Samuel Atta Akyea.

He urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to select a presidential candidate possessing the temperament and character suitable for both national and global leadership.

During an interview on Thursday, November 27, Mr. Adjei remarked that Atta Akyea’s warning to NPP delegates resonates with a wider agreement within the political arena.

He stressed that maturity and leadership qualities should be prioritised in the party’s decision-making process as they approach the 2026 presidential primaries. He asserted that any impartial observer, irrespective of their political stance, would concur with Atta Akyea’s appeal.

“Every matured person in politics would agree with Atta Akyea, regardless of your political affiliation,” he stated.

Mr. Adjei contended that, in addition to competence and vision, a presidential candidate must exhibit the temperament, humility, and global stature expected of a contemporary statesman.

He noted that the former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, exemplifies these attributes, characterising him as a leader capable of effecting change in the country and instilling confidence both domestically and internationally.

“Apart from having all the capability to shape the country and build people’s prosperity, that person should exhibit every single thing you want in a leader. Everybody will tell you, even the NDC will say that in terms of his vision, conduct and personality, he is a formidable politician,” he added.

Reiterating his faith in Bawumia’s prospects, Mr. Adjei forecasted a victory for Dr. Bawumia when the NPP casts its votes on January 31, 2026.

“Coming January 31, 2026, Alhaji Bawumia will be declared the winner and the flagbearer of the NPP to go into the 2028 election,” he declared.
