Bawumia confident of 90% delegate support in Tano North

Flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed confidence in obtaining substantial backing from delegates in the Tano North Constituency during the party’s 2026 presidential primaries.

Dr. Bawumia, currently on a campaign tour of the Ahafo Region, indicated that he anticipates securing at least 90 percent of the votes in the constituency, building upon the 84 percent support he garnered in the 2023 election.

The former Vice President made these comments while engaging with delegates on the inaugural day of his regional tour, which also included visits to the Tano South and Asutifi North constituencies.

He expressed gratitude to party members for their unwavering loyalty, characterising the support from Tano North as a reflection of his lasting connection with the grassroots.

“I’m home, thank you so much for your support in 2023. I’m pleading with you to give me 90% of your votes, just as you did in the past. I will not let you down when I become President,” he said.
