Legal practitioner Oliver Barker-Vormawor has called on the government to support the transition following Engineers and Planners (E&P)’s successful acquisition of Damang Mines, emphasizing the need for clear legislative and policy guidance.
During an interview which was observed by The Ghana Report, he stated that Ghana should steer clear of a disorganised approach to ownership transitions in critical sectors such as mining.
He contended that reforms ought to be forward-thinking, prioritizing long-term national interests instead of merely reacting to individual transactions.
“We must be intentional about where we are heading, and the laws must reflect that direction,” he said.
