The 2022/23 English Championship season is set to end on Monday, May 8, after an exciting season
Unfortunately, it will not end on a good note for three Ghanaian players who are already relegated even before the last matchday of the season.
The defending trio of Andy Yiadom, Baba Rahman, and Kelvin Abrefa have been instrumental for their club Reading FC in the EFL Championship this season but just not good enough to keep them in the second tier.
After playing 45 matches this season, Reading FC are 22nd on the league log with 44 points, five points behind Cardiff City.
This means that not even a heavy win by Reading in their final game against Huddersfield can save them.

The Royals recorded 13 wins and 11 draws out of 45 matches, mathematically enough to save them but were docked six points for a breach of the English Football League’s financial rules.
Andy Yiadom and Kelvin Abrefa will stay on with Reading at the end of the season, while Chelsea loanee Baba Rahman makes a return to his parent club.
