Ayawaso North MP refutes hiring thugs to attack NDC activist

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yusif Jajah, has refuted claims of hiring thugs to assault an activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhassan Mohammed.

The MP stated that such actions are not in his character.

This statement responds to allegations made by Mohammed on social media.

“My attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media in which a gentleman, out of anger and misunderstanding, refers to me as a ‘stupid MP’ and falsely accuses me of orchestrating an attack on him.

“Let me place on record, in the clearest terms, that I have absolutely no knowledge of, nor any connection to, the said incident or the individuals involved. As a Member of Parliament for the good people of Ayawaso North, I have never, and will never, support or condone violence in any form,” the MP wrote in a press release dated October 13.

He further stated, “It is deeply unfortunate that such baseless allegations are being circulated to tarnish my image and distract from the genuine work I continue to do for my constituents. My focus has always been on promoting peace, protecting the rights of my people, and ensuring their safety and well-being.”

Mr. Jajah mentioned that he has “therefore requested the Ghana Police Service to invite the said gentleman to provide evidence and assist with investigations into this matter. The truth must prevail, and I trust the security agencies to handle this issue with the fairness and professionalism it deserves”.

He assured his constituents and the public of his unwavering commitment to serve with humility, integrity, and dedication.

“No amount of falsehood or provocation will derail my commitment to the development and peace of Ayawaso North,” Mr. Jajah stated.
