Ato Forson: NDC Minority fulfilled expectations in 8th Parliament
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the NDC Caucus during the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
Speaking on January 6 during the dissolution of the 8th Parliament, Dr. Forson reflected on the challenges and successes that defined the minority’s role over the past term.
In his address, Dr. Forson acknowledged that the minority faced many hurdles while trying to ensure that the Executive did not take actions detrimental to the country’s economy.
Despite these challenges, he emphasised that the NDC Minority succeeded in meeting the expectations of the Ghanaian people.
“The journey was not without its difficulties,” Dr. Forson said, “but in the end, we were able to rise above the obstacles and fulfil our obligations to the people. Every chapter of this journey has been marked by its twists and turns—highs and lows—but the NDC Minority caucus remained steadfast in its commitment.”
Dr. Forson’s remarks highlighted the minority’s consistent opposition to certain policies they deemed harmful, while also pushing for the protection and promotion of the interests of the Ghanaian people.
His comments underscored the resilience and determination of the NDC Minority in fulfilling their role as the principal opposition party in Parliament.
Despite the often challenging political climate, Dr. Forson reiterated that the minority had lived up to their mandate, remaining a critical voice for accountability and transparency within the legislature.
“The NDC Minority delivered and lived up to the expectations of the people, and we stand proud of our achievements,” Forson concluded.
