Assault Case: Ekow Black remanded

The Adabraka District Court has placed social media women’s advocate, Christford Affadu Danful, commonly referred to as Ekow Black, in police custody as investigations extend beyond a viral assault incident to encompass new allegations of sextortion.

The suspect was brought before the court on Friday, January 16, 2026, and was remanded by Her Worship Nana Abena Asoh Owusu Omenyo, who presided over the proceedings, pending the conclusion of police investigations.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday, January 21, 2026.

Prosecutors informed the court that inquiries into a previous assault incident, which gained significant attention on social media and provoked public outrage, are still in progress.

Furthermore, the prosecution revealed that additional complaints have surfaced, alleging that the suspect threatened to disseminate intimate images of victims.

Investigators assert that this behaviour corresponds with offences related to sextortion, leading to an expansion of the investigation’s scope.

The case is still under investigation.
