Ashantigold fires Ernest Thompson after two months in charge

Source The Ghana Report

Ashantigold SC management has reportedly sacked head coach Ernest Thompson Quartey after just three games into the season.

Coach Thompson Quartey in September this year signed a two-year contract with the Miners after taking over from interim coach Thomas Duah.

He has been in charge for only two months and has won one, drawn one and lost one after three matches in the ongoing league season.

Ashantigold SC has four points after three games.

According to reports, the management decision follows the Miners’ 2-0 loss to King Faisal in the Ghana Premier League matchweek 3 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Da Rocha, the technical director, has been named as an interim coach until a new coach is appointed.

The Obuasi based club will take on Hearts of Oak next Sunday at the Len Clay Stadium in a matchday four fixture.
