Asante Kotoko were better and deserved the win – Aduana Stars
Communications Director of Aduana Stars, Evans Oppong has admitted defeat against Ghanaians Asante Kotoko.
The fire boys succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the Nana Agyemang Park on matchday 12 of the Ghana Premier League last Sunday.
A well-taken free-kick from defender Patrick Asiedu and sensational attacker Albert Amoah was enough for the Porcupine Warriors to snatch maximum points.
Speaking to Kessben FM, as followed by Ghanasoccernet.com, Oppong said, “I will congratulate Kotoko for this victory but honestly, I am not happy. Kotoko is one of our biggest rivals in football and I believe they were better than us and deserve the win”
“We’ve let the people of Dormaa down. It is an unfortunate result because that is not the results we expected” he said.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars and coach Yaw Acheampong have mutually parted ways following a string of poor results in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
Acheampong’s fate as head coach of the two-time league winners was completely deepened following the defeat to Kotoko.
Aduana Stars struggled to find their rhythm under Yaw Acheampong, losing four games, drawing six and winning just two games.
With 12 points, the Fire Boys currently find themselves in 13th position on the domestic top-flight standings after 12 matches into the campaign.
