Asante Kotoko secure narrow victory over Vision FC in pre-season friendly
Asante Kotoko got back on track in their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win over newcomers Vision FC in a friendly at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors came out strong, scoring early through Albert Amoah, who’s been impressive since joining the club.
Amoah netted again 23 minutes later, giving Kotoko a comfortable lead at halftime. The second half saw both teams step up their game, entertaining the fans with high-quality football.
Vision FC pushed hard for a comeback and earned a penalty, which Issah Akuka converted to reduce the deficit.
Despite their efforts, Vision FC couldn’t find an equalizer, and the match ended 2-1 in favour of Kotoko.
Both teams will see this match as a valuable test of their preparedness for the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season, starting September 6, 2024.
