Asante Kotoko pledge GHc5k to the Offinso accident victims

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah has pledged GH₵ 5000 to the victims of the Offinso Accident.

The accident happened over the weekend at Offinso, near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region and claimed the lives of seven footballers in the country’s juvenile league.

The players aged between 12-15 were members of colts team, Africa Vision Soccer Academy, were returning from Afrancho in the  Bosomtwe District after a successful registration process for the upcoming colts league whne the tragedy occured.

As the football fraternity mourned the death of the young footballers, Kotoko is doing more than shedding tears.

The Chief Executive of the Porcupine Warriors on Tuesday announced the intended donation during the unveiling ceremony of the club’s new management team.

“I wish to pledge on behalf of Asante Kotoko to donate ¢5000 to help in taking care of the accident victims.” He said.

He also added that the club will attend the funerals of the deceased as he urged other clubs to extend a helping hand to the accident victims.

Earlier on, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) also decided to donate their monthly allowance for September 2020 to the Offinso accident victims.
