A group of Asante Kotoko fans in the United States of America have decided to support the wife and children of late supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong.
Frimpong, commonly known as Nana Pooley, tragically lost his life after he was stabbed following the violence that broke during the game between Kotoko and Nsoatreman in the Ghana Premier League matchday 19.
The death of the supporter has left Ghana football in a state of mourning with the police service opening an investigation to bring the perpetrators to book.
In a show of solidarity, fans of the club in the US led by Chief CK Gyamfi have decided to contribute $100 each to a fund to support the wife and children of the deceased.
Nana Pooley, a staunch fan of the club, travels with the team across the length and breath of the country to support them during matches.
The matchday 20 of the Ghana Premier League has been postponed following the act of hooliganism.
The Ghana FA and the the police service have held meetings to enhance security at match centres to curb the growing violence at game venues.
