Asante Kotoko closing in on signing Bofoakwa Tano striker Saaka Dauda
Asante Kotoko are reportedly nearing the signing of Bofoakwa Tano striker Saaka Dauda for a fee of GHC 150,000.
This move would mark Kotoko’s sixth signing of the transfer window, aimed at strengthening their attack for the upcoming season.
Dauda, who captained the relegated Bofoakwa Tano, impressed last season with 8 goals, including a standout strike against Hearts of Oak.
Known for his versatility, Dauda can play both as a central striker and on the wing, which could add valuable depth and competition to Kotoko’s attacking lineup.
At 24 years old will face competition for a starting spot from recently acquired forwards Elvis Kyei Baffour and AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub.
Kotoko have been active in this transfer window as they seek to overcome the disappointment of a trophyless 2023/24 season.
If the signing of Dauda is finalized, it will further bolster their squad ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season, which kicks off on September 6th.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are expected to fly out of the country for their pre-season ahead of the upcoming season.
