Asante Kotoko arrives in Mauritania ahead of FC Nouadhibou clash
Ghana Premier League club, Asante Kotoko have touched down in Mauritania ahead of its clash with Nouadhibou FC in the preliminary stage of the 2020/21 Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League.
The Porcupine Warriors landed in West African country on Wednesday afternoon to continue their preparation for the match which is scheduled to take place at the Stade Municipal in Nouadhibou on Sunday.
Despite Kotoko’s poor start in the 2020/21 Ghanaian league, the team is poised for a good start in their continental league campaign with a win against the “Orange Club” who have been dominant in the Mauritania league over recent seasons.
A win for Kotoko in the doubleheader will set up a clash with either Vipers of Uganda or Sudanese side Al-Hilal for a place in the group stages.
Black Stars goalie Razak Abalora who missed the first two games of the season was included in the 20-man squad announced by Coach Maxwell Konadu.
However, the Porcupine Warriors would be without suspended Stalwart defender Habib Mohammed, Brazilian import Fabio Gama dos Santos as well as the inform goalkeeper and Captain Felix Annan who suffered a muscle tear in his right thigh during their match against Berekum Chelsea.
Here is the squad of Kotoko:
Goalkeepers: Kwame Baah, Danlad Ibrahim, Razak Abalora
