Arsenal eye January move for Mo Kudus as West Ham open to offers

West Ham United may be open to selling Mohammed Kudus during the January transfer window, with Arsenal reportedly showing strong interest in the Ghanaian international.

Former Hammers senior scout Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Arsenal are considering a bid for Kudus, especially following Bukayo Saka’s recent hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him sidelined for several weeks.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted at exploring options in the January market to bolster his squad, and Kudus has been on their radar for some time.

Brown previously noted that Kudus is “certainly” one of the Gunners’ long-term targets.

Kudus, 24, joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023 for £38 million and has since made a significant impact with 59 appearances, 17 goals, and 18 assists.

Despite his contributions, the Hammers could be tempted to cash in on the player if they receive a substantial offer, potentially earning a hefty profit.

Brown explained that while West Ham value Kudus’ talents, they might consider selling if the price is right.

“He can light up a game or sometimes fade into the background,” Brown noted.

Arsenal are not alone in their interest, as Liverpool and Manchester City are also reportedly monitoring the attacking midfielder.

Brown believes a deal is possible, adding, “If Arsenal are serious and West Ham get the right offer, it makes sense for both sides.”

The Gunners’ need for attacking depth and Kudus’ versatility could make this a transfer to watch in January.
