Anyone in my shoes would say Kelvyn Boy has been ‘ungrateful’ – Stonebwoy

Reggae/Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has stated that he has heard and seen unencouraging things about his protégé Kelvyn Boy that would make others call the artiste ungrateful.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he stated that “the issues are broader than what the public has seen. The legal team is working on one or two things and can finally say whether he would stay with BHIM or not.”

It was reported, in August, that all was not well in the BHIM nation camp. Stonebwoy’s fallout with his former manager and now agent Blakk Cedi also came with a tear between himself and Kelvyn Boy.

The artistes unfollowed each other on social media which sparked rumours that Stonebwoy was jealous of the young boy.

He, however, told Andy Dosty, Friday, that lots of artistes and industry players have invested in up-and-coming artistes and suffered the same fate.

“You always realise that there is always a black picture painted at the end of the story. If you don’t take time, you are going to be labelled the bad person even after your genuineness,” he stated.

Although he refused to point out exactly what Kelvyn Boy had done, Stonebwoy added that he can only confidently answer the position of the ‘Mea’ singer on his label after they have sorted out their differences.

The ‘Kpo keke’ hitmaker revealed that many up-and-coming artistes feel already established acts are mandated to sign them when the situation was completely different years ago.

“We understood, as new artistes, that nobody was obliged to pick up anybody. The Ambolleys, Kojo Antwi’s didn’t sign anybody but in the situation that they did, we were appreciative of the little things.

“Samini, my godfather, wasn’t obliged to sign me. Only God knows how grateful I am to him today. I made him a promise that I would make him proud,” he stated.

He explained the situation where up-and-coming artistes do not appreciate the inputs of artistes who have signed them, arises as a result of the lack of structural input.

According to him, when the right structures are not in places, everything else backfires hence, his legal team are working on changing and fixing something in his company, Burniton Music Group.

Stonebwoy stated that he has learnt from his mistakes and working towards building these structures that would in the future, help him work better with signed artistes on the Burniton Music Group record label.
