Andre Ayew joins Qatari side Al Sadd
Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, has arrived in Doha ahead of his proposed move to Qatari champions Al Sadd.
Ayew is expected to sign a three-year deal with the club after passing his mandatory medicals.
The 31-year-old will be joining the club as a free agent after leaving English Championship side Swansea City FC after the 2020/2021 season.
According to reports, Andre Ayew will be joining the list of highest-paid African footballers with tax-free weekly earnings of US$ 200,000.
Ayew opted for the Al Sadd move despite being linked with clubs in England and Turkey following his exit from Swansea City.
The former Marseille man had a fantastic campaign with Swansea last season, leading them to a playoff place for promotion to the Premier League.
He scored 17 goals in 46 appearances for the Swans.
Ayew has previously featured for Marseille, West Ham United and Fenerbahce.
Al Sadd posted a video with a statement confirming the capture of the former West Ham and former Swansea City forward.
The statement read: ”Al Sadd have reached an agreement to sign Ghana star Andre Ayew.
“The player will arrive in the morning to complete the routine procedure, followed by the signing of the contract and the official announcement.”
