All you need to know about the musical career of Alan Kyerematen’s running mate, Kwame Owusu Danso
The Presidential Candidate of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change and Founder of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, selected Kwame Owusu Danso as his running mate for the upcoming elections.
Kwame Owusu Danso who is now a lawyer and General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Trassacco Group has had a career spanning across media, politics and law. He previously worked at the Pan African TV.
What you may not know about Kwame is, he once had a career in music. Unfortunately, he delved into other fields.
His musical career
Kwame, better known by his stage name E-Nice, was a member of the Afropop group Echo, which took first place in the 2008 Nescafé African Revelation competition held in Ghana.
The group was crowned the winners of the prestigious competition after defeating Too Natural, the 1st Runner up, and 3AM, the 2nd runner up, at the event held at Kawukudi Park in Nima, Accra.
E-Nice went through all three rounds, which included freestyle, live band and acapella and won the competition like their mentor, Wutah won it in 2005.
Echo was a rap duo comprised of two young guys, Charles Yeboah Danso and Elijah Owusu Danso (E-Nice).
The music duo, Echo
One of the few Ghanaian acts on the Channel O radio countdown was Echo, which included Kwame and Charles Yeboah Danso.
The trio, which was representing Ghana in the Nescafé African Revelation competition’s West African finals, won a GH₵200 prize package that included money for two music videos, an eight-track record, and an accommodation in a three-bedroom house for one-year.
Echo later inked a two-year contract with Boy Entertainment Leo, a UK-based label, and celebrated the milestone with an event hosted at the Wangara Hotel in Labone.
Kwame Owusu Danso’s group had hit songs like ‘Gologolo’ ft Tinny and was a monster hit 15 years ago. The song was produced by Richie Mensah.
It earned a nomination for the best AfroPop Song of the Year at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
