Alan’s resignation unfortunate but we must engage him – Mac Manu

Mac Manu, a former national chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed regret over Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the party.

Mr Manu believes that the party’s leadership should engage with Kyerematen to persuade him to reconsider his decision and rejoin the party.

Speaking in an interview on Saturday, November 4, Manu emphasized the importance of unity within the party for success in the 2024 general elections.

He stressed that to break the eight-cycle in Ghana’s history, all party members should set aside their differences after today’s exercise.

During the New Patriotic Party’s super delegates conference, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia secured victory with 629 votes (68.15%), followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 132 votes. Alan Kyerematen came in third with 95 votes (10.29%).

Alan subsequently announced his resignation from the party on September 25, citing skewed and unfair processes.
