Alan unveils Kwame Owusu Danso as running mate
An independent presidential candidate, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has unveiled Kwame Owusu Danso as his running mate for the December 7 elections.
The announcement was made at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra on Friday, September 20, at the event which drew a large crowd of supporters from the Movement for Change (M4C) and Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC), led by Mr Kyerematen.
Other leading members of the ARC are Dr Michael Abu Sakara Foster and Kwasi Addai Odike.
Economic mess
In his address, Mr Owusu Danso criticised Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, blaming him for the country’s economic struggles.
He described Dr Bawumia’s leadership as “economic mismanagement,” pointing out that the economy was on the verge of collapse, with a struggling currency and skyrocketing prices.
Mr Owusu Danso questioned the Vice-President’s intentions, saying, “The same economic wizard who promised stability has delivered chaos.”
The running mate of Mr Kyerematen, therefore, urged Ghanaians to be cautious of “empty promises” in the upcoming elections and rather support his presidential candidate’s Great Transformational Plan, which offered hope and real change.
“I believe Ghana’s troubles stem from a leadership crisis,” Mr Owusu Danso stated.
“As a nation, we must prioritise community interests and choose leaders who reflect those values,” he added.
