President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to deliver his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament on January 3, 2025.
This address, as stipulated in Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, will be the president’s last report on the state of the nation before he leaves office.
The 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic will officially come to a close on January 6, 2025.
In a seamless transition, the 9th Parliament will convene later that day at 11:00 PM to elect a Speaker and two Deputy Speakers.
The Speaker-elect and newly elected Members of Parliament will be sworn in at midnight, marking the beginning of a new legislative term.
