Akufo-Addo swears in Deputy Chief of Staff, 2 others as new ambassadors

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sworn in Fawaz Aliu as Deputy Chief of Staff and Ambassador-at-Large.

Again, the President has appointed Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity as Ghana’s Ambassador to Serbia, and Mr. Peprah Ampratwum as Ambassador In-See-to.

The three appointees were sworn in at a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

President Akufo-Addo is optimistic the three will excel in their respective new roles, further strengthening Ghana’s diplomatic efforts worldwide.

The President charged the new ambassadors to help deepen the ties between Ghana and other countries as well as connect Ghana to investment opportunities.

On behalf of his colleagues, Major General Abedi pledged to serve Ghana to the best of their abilities.

The appointments follow that of Nana Asante Bediatuo as an Ambassador-at-Large in June 2024.
