President Nana Akufo-Addo has nominated Paul Andoh as the new Chief Executive for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly in the Western North Region.
The nominee is set to replace Alfred Amoah, who passed away in a motor accident last year.
Mr. Amoah was returning from an official meeting of all metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives (MMDCEs) held in a Government House in Accra when the accident occurred.
The notice of the nominee was given to the Western North Minister by the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Dan Botwe.
President Akufo-Addo nominated Mr. Andoh in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).
A special meeting would soon be held to confirm the nominee, according to a letter from Western North Region Minister Joojo Rocky Obeng to the Assembly on Tuesday, April 18.
The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly serves a population of approximately 94,000 people and is responsible for the delivery of key services to the municipality. The appointment of Mr. Andoh is seen as a critical step in ensuring that the Assembly continues to deliver on its mandate.
