Akufo-Addo inaugurates new passport Head Office
Passport applicants who visit the Ridge office of the Passport Office will no longer be in a cramped space as President Akufo-Addo inaugurated an ultra-modern office at Ridge in Accra.
The complex is expected to provide improved services in the acquisition and issuance of passports
The office, a three-level purpose, edifice comes with ancillary facilities such as meeting rooms, a cafeteria, and a well-structured record among others.
Commissioning the building, President Akufo-Addo said admitted the challenges the Passport Office faced.
He commended the Foreign Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey for spearheading the transformation of passport administration.
“…We now have a process for obtaining a passport that can be done in an objective and transparent manner.”
Nana Akufo-Addo urged the management and staff of the office to maintain the edifice.
On her part, the Foreign Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, said for nearly four years, her office had successfully implemented the online passport application system which had phased out the manual application.
These interventions, she said, had eliminated the difficulties associated with the acquisition of passports, and had improved the turnout time for delivery.
