Akufo-Addo confirms acting Auditor-General for substantive role
President Nana Akufo-Addo has finally appointed the acting Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu to the substantive role of Ghana’s Auditor-General.
The appointment of Mr Asiedu takes retrospective effect from August 27, 2021.
In a letter dated September 7, 2021, which was signed by the Chief of staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the president is said to have made the appointment in consultation with the Council of State.
Mr Asiedu took over as the Acting Auditor-General when his immediate past boss, Mr Daniel Yaw Domelevo, retired from office as the Auditor-General on June 1, 2020.
