Akuapem Poloo photo is child porn – National CyberSecurity Center
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has condemned the display of “child pornography” by Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo.
Known as Rosemond Brown, the social media figure posted a nude photo squatting in front of her half-naked 7-year-old son.
The picture, posted on her Instagram handle, was meant to commemorate her birthday, she has said.
However, the NCSC has condemned “such acts of online child sexual exploitation and abuse”.
The NCSC identifies the picture “as pornographic material according to Section 136 of Ghana’s Electronic Transactions Act 2008, (Act 772) and Article 9 of the Budapest Convention which Ghana is a party to”.
In a statement, the NCSC indicated that the post also violates Article 1 of the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection, (Malabo Convention) which classifies such an act as “Child Pornography”.
The centre pointed out that the legal provisions “criminalise child pornography” and cautioned Ghanaians to refrain from engaging in similar acts to ensure sanity within the cyberspace.
The centre further highlighted government’s priority in protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse online and provided the channels to report such incidents.

The action of the actress has drawn the ire of several organisations, and government institutions tasked to protect children.
Child Rights International (CRI) and the Ministry for Gender and Social Protection have condemned the post.
Meanwhile, the police have taken up the issue and sent an invitation to Akua Poloo to assist them with investigations.
