Akosombo dam spillage: Ibrahim Mahama donates relief items to affected persons
The Chief Executive Officer of Engineers & Planners and Dzata Cement, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has donated some relief items to the victims of the dam spillage on Tuesday, October 24.
The items worth millions of cedis were received on behalf of the victims by the Chiefs, Queen mothers, the DCE, the Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, representatives of the NDC and NPP, and the good people of the affected communities.
Some of the relief items donated were 20,000 bags of 5 kg rice, 24,000 cans of mackerel, 12,000 bottles of cooking oil, 400 packs of water, and 1,000 pieces of student mattresses.
Receiving the items on behalf of the community, the DCE for North Tongu, Hon. Divine Osborn K. Fenu thanked Mr. Ibrahim Mahama and his team for the massive donation.
He said this donation would bring more smiles to the people living in the affected communities.
Hon. Ablakwa on behalf of the MPs in the affected communities, thanked Mr. Ibrahim Mahama and his team for their support as well.
The Paramount Chief of Bator, Torgbega Patamia Dzekley VII, expressed gratitude to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for coming to their aid at this crucial time.
Hon. Ablakwa assured the business mogul that there would be equity in the distribution of the items to all the affected communities.
The government, churches, media organizations, and other philanthropists have also made bountiful donations to the affected communities in the North, South, and Central Tongu districts heavily affected by the Akosombo dam spillage.
