Afua Asantewaa: If you want to have an impactful life, live beyond social media and hearsays

Media personality Afua Asantewaa who recently completed his second sing-a-thon attempt in Kumasi has shared words of wisdom, advising individuals to transcend the realm of social media and hearsay if they aspire to live a life of genuine impact.

In a video, Afua Asantewaa recently emphasized the need for substance over shallowness, urging young people to prioritise meaningful endeavours that drive positive transformation.

“Social media has come to help us positively and negatively but if you want to live an impactful life, live beyond social media and hearsays.

“If by your conscience or guidance of God inspire you to make certain moves and do something, go with it.

“Also, there are certain advices that may come, you can pick the positive ones and run by it. For instance, I was advised to take it slower and not scream when I’m singing during the sing-a-thon and when I took the advice, it has helped me,” she stated.

Afua also disclosed that sometimes, God uses one’s weakness to bring a testimony and in her case, her not too good voice, which she was mocked for has brought her fame.

On Thursday, December 26, Afua concluded her five days second attempt to set a Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon by an individual, clocking 121 hours and 39 minutes.

The marathon took place at the Heroes’ Park at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

It started at dawn on December 21 and ended on December 25, 2024.

The 34-year-old singer performed over 200 Ghanaian songs spanning gospel, highlife, afrobeat, and hiplife genres, in a remarkable showcase of stamina and cultural pride.
