Leader of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, Alan Kyerematen has paid a visit to Hopeson Adorye, the director in charge of special duties for his campaign team, as he is currently behind bars.
The Independent Presidential Candidate, together with some key members of the Butterfly[Afranfranto] Movement like Boniface Abubakar Saddique, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, Kofi Kapito, Alhaji Haruna Tafsiru Warlord, Ken Kuranchie, went to the ministries police station, where Hopeson Adorye has been detained on Thursday, May 24, 2024 to commiserate with him following his arrest.
The former senior figure of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) was arrested on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, following his claim that he detonated dynamites in the Volta Region during the 2016 general elections to deter voters in opposition parties.
Meanwhile, the former Member of Parliament for Adentan, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, on the visit to their associate, Hopeson Adorye, described the arrest as politically motivated.
He added that the allegations against Hopeson Adorye are false and unfair.
“Hopeson Adorye is not about to run away from Ghana or from his home because the police intend to charge him with the publication of false information.
“So to go to the extent of keeping him all day in the police station and bringing him over to the Ministries to detain him, you point fingers backwards at yourself that there is something political at play and it is not fair,” Mr. Buaben Asamoa noted.
Hopeson Adorye is expected to be arraigned.
