AFCON Qualifiers: Ibrahim Sulemana named in Black Stars starting lineup to face Sudan

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has unveiled his starting eleven to face Sudan in Thursday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The team features some surprising names, including Atalanta’s Ibrahim Sulemana, who has barely played this season due to injury.

Sulemana will partner Elisha Owusu in midfield, filling the void left by injured Thomas Partey. Mohammed Kudus will captain the side, donning the number 10 jersey.

The defence will be anchored by Mohammed Salisu and Alexander Djiku, with Alidu Seidu and Gideon Mensah as fullbacks.

In attack, Kudus will be joined by Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, and Nuamah.

Ghana desperately needs a win after losing to Angola and drawing with Niger in their opening qualification matches. Sudan seeks redemption after a 2-1 loss in their last game.

The Black Stars’ 24-year unbeaten streak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ended in September with a 1-0 defeat to Angola.

Currently third in Group F with one point from two games, Ghana’s qualification hopes hinge on winning both matches against Sudan.
