AFCON 2025: Tournament draw scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27
The draw for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 will take place on Monday night, 27 January 2025.
According to CAF, over 90 countries across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North and South America will be watching the event.
It will be held at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco, starting at 6 pm.
In Ghana, the draw will be live on Max TV. Fans can also follow it live on the CAF official website, CAFONLINE.COM, and CAFTV (YouTube).
Leading global broadcasters, including CAF’s longstanding partners such as beIN Sport (covering MENA, Europe, America, and the South Pacific), Canal+, SABC, Azam Media, AfroSport, Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation, SNRT, DAZN, and others, will also carry the event live.
The draw will be available on Free-to-Air platforms in 46 African countries, ensuring that all 24 participating nations, as well as fans across the continent, can tune in.
The 24 teams that have qualified for the tournament include the hosts Morocco, defending champions Côte d’Ivoire, and other top contenders like Algeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Tunisia, among others.
However, the draw will be bittersweet for Ghana, a four-time AFCON champion, as they failed to qualify for the 2025 edition, missing out on the chance to compete for their fifth title.
The Black Stars’ absence from the tournament is a significant blow, given their storied history in African football.
The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is set to take place from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
