Sarah Adwoa Safo, the former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following her recent outburst in the media on party matters.
A statement from the party, signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, indicates that Adwoa Safo’s recent media engagement violated the party’s directives.
This action stems from her participation in interviews on various platforms, during which she made damning remarks about party leaders.
The NPP believes she violated directives that cautioned members against discussing issues that could lead to disaffection within the party.
Adwoa Safo’s statements were considered detrimental to party cohesion and counterproductive to ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s foundation.

Having served as an MP, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, there were expectations for her to embody the core values of “discipline, loyalty, and unity” that the NPP upholds.
The statement also referenced Article 3(5) of the NPP Constitution, which requires members to actively promote and defend the party’s reputation.
Given these infractions, the party has decided to refer the matter to its national disciplinary committee to determine the appropriate course of action.
