Actress Funke Akindele Heartbroken As She Loses Mother
Actress Funke Akindele, now an active politician with the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Lagos State, is heartbroken after the death of her mother.
The sad news was first announced on social media by the sister of the Nollywood actress, Olubunmi Akindele, on Tuesday, February 07, 2023.
The family has not disclosed the cause of death.
“It is with heavy hearts, but in total submission to God Almighty that the Adebanjo and Akindele families announce the passing of their daughter, mother, grandmother and sister, DR. R B Adebanjo-Akindele, which occurred on Tuesday, February 07, 2023.”
Olubunmi prayed that “her gentle soul” rests in eternal peace.
“Obsequies in honour of her passing shall be announced in due course-Olubunmi Akindele,” she added on Instagram.

Since joining politics, Funke Akindele has been playing an active role within the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) due to her position in the party.
Funke Akindele became very popular in other countries due to her ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ TV series.
Funke starred in many other movies, including Far from Home, Battle on Buka Street, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Chief Daddy, Going for Broke and others.
