Accra Stadium Washrooms, Dugout, Tunnel get massive upgrade ahead of Ghana-Sudan Game [VIDEO]
The Accra Sports Stadium has been cleared to host the crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier between Ghana and Sudan on October 11, 2024.
The Group F encounter has third-placed Ghana scheduled to play against second-placed Sudan in the first of a doubleheader.
Ghana heads into the game with just a point from two games after losing 1-0 to Angola and drawing 1-1 with Niger. Sudan has three points after beating Niger and losing 2-1 to Angola.
However, the status of the game’s venue was up in the air as Ghana didn’t have a venue approved by CAF to host the game up until the body approved the Accra Stadium for use on October 2.
In a video credited to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, several facilities that had come under intense scrutiny over their poor condition were captured in pristine shape.
The washrooms, tunnel area, dugout area, playing surface, dressing rooms and referees area had been massively upgraded when Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif visited the venue.
