Accra Lions end Tema Youth unbeaten run this season

Division One League side Accra Lions has regained the top position of Zone Three after beating Tema Youth at the Tema stadium as the race for premiership promotion heats up.

The Abokobi-based club handed the home side their first defeat of the season with a 2-0 score to secure maximum points.

Goals in both halves of the game reignited the Lions’ hopes of promotion to top-flight football in Ghana on Wednesday afternoon.

In-form striker Salifu Rauf sealed the win over Tema Youth in the 74th minute after Oliver Amedor had given the visitors a first-half lead.

With seven matches remaining, Accra Lions now lead the table with 46 points and Tema Youth firmly behind with 44.
